The Landlord
The bleeding heart of the heavens, the Landlord was a god who was known for his sympathy toward mortals. This made him unique, unlike the other gods who paid mortals no mind or even found enjoyment in their torture. As all young gods are, he was gifted his own universe, domain over an entire plane of existence. He wouldn't bring his universe to life until he became much older in fear that he would make a grave mistake which would cause suffering of his people due to his youth and inexperience. And so he hovered between the worlds of his friends' universes, concerning himself in the well being of the people. He was known to send people down to the world to help everyone who needed it, but these people would often die heroes. All of his children dying in horrible ways sprouted from hate deeply saddened him, pushing him to make a world in which the mortals weren't subjected to the amusement of the gods. Now, the Landlord would finally awaken his universe, sculpting it into a skyscraper. In this skyscraper, each floor would be its entire world, with its own qualities and uniqueness.
The Landlord would also be set apart in his method of getting inhabitants of his world. After the floors were created, and after he deemed it a suitable utopia, the Landlord set out to other universes to find his first inhabitants. He would go about this by finding newly deceased soulmates who had died before their time and taking them to the skyscraper. The first tenants that the landlord brought grew to be extremely close to the Landlord, aiding him in taking care of the new tenants and eventually being offered special abilities and immortality, thus making them the CUSTODIAN and DOORMAN of the skyscraper.
